Samsung Galaxy S 2

Category: Cell Phones - Date: March 17, 2011

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is the second version of the highly popular original Galaxy S. Visually the new S2 model looks just like an iPhone 4.

What’s most interesting about the phone is its 4.3 inch AMOLED touchscreen (480 x 800 pixels). This vibrant and colorful screen is now less reflective and sharper than its predecessor.

The Samsung I9100, as it’s also called, runs on Android 2.3 gingerbread on a 1.2GHz processor.

The Galaxy SII has 16 GB of internal storage which is expandable to 32 GB with a MicroSD card.

Size & Weight

The Galaxy S II is 4.93 inches tall, 2.6 inches wide and at just a third of an inch thick, is the slimmest smartphone ever. It weighs 4.09 ounces.

The Samsung 2 was a phone made for media. The cameras it carries are impressive. It has an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash in the rear. It also has a 2 megapixel camera in the front, which is the highest resolution front facing camera on an Android phone. You can also shoot high definition 1080p video at 30 frames per second.

Nobody knows yet for sure, but I found a preliminary release date of May 6 2011, but it’s unclear if that’s for the US/Verizon or for another country/carrier.
