iBuyPower Gamer Power AM522D3 PC

While Alienware undoubtedly dominates in the gaming PC market, there are some worthy competitors out there as well. One that is generally not as well-known is iBuyPower, and their offerings will not only save you money but will do a great job at competing with the performance of Alienware’s more expensive PCs. The company’s Gamer Power AM522D3 is a great, inexpensive desktop PC made with gaming in mind.

There are some really great internals iBuyPower’s desktop. First of all, this powerful PC is powered by a AMD FX-Series Quad-Core 4100 processor clocked at 3.6 GHz and has 8 GB of DDR3 RAM. They didn’t skimp on the hard drive either, as it’s a 1 TB SATA HDD. There’s also an AMD Radeon HD 6670 graphics card the system has 6 USB 2.0 ports.

While the AM522D3 looks generally nice, it doesn’t even come close to competitors like Alienware. iBuyPower’s desktop is also extremely bulky, definitely a lot more so than it should be for a desktop computer today. Desktops are now supposed to be thinner, like an xbox360 or like the Mac Mini. However, at least the AM522D3 makes up for it in price and specs.

iBuyPower’s AM522D3 desktop comes in at 19.5 in x 8.1 in x 18.5 inches and weighs a pretty hefty 38 lbs. Then again, this is not a system you’ll be taking along with you, so weight is pretty irrelevant.

If you want a really powerful gaming computer but you’re on somewhat of a tight budget, the iBuyPower AM522D3 is what you’re going to want to look at. With specs matching Alienware’s much more expensive offerings, the iBuyPower Gamer PC is the perfect solution for the budget gamer who doesn’t want to sacrifice performance (although does have a few mostly insignificant downsides).
